The school calendar for 2025-26 will probably look a little different next year for high school students, Superintendent Dr. Lance Hatch advised the Board of Education.
The Board already approved the calendar, which includes start and end dates and breaks. However, Hatch said district administration typically adds specifications like A days and B days for high school students. The current practice is to alternate days, which means some weeks an A day is on a Monday and Wednesday and Friday and other weeks it is on a Tuesday and Thursday. While that practice keeps A days and B days basically even, the schedule does not work well for students taking classes at Southwest Tech and Southern Utah University.
