Continuing the effort to more adequately compensate district employees, the Board of Education approved a 5 percent cost of living adjustment (COLA) for the next school year.
Superintendent Dr. Lance Hatch noted that a 5 percent increase is incredible this year. Other superintendents, he said, have indicated that increases in their districts are ranging from just funding steps and lanes to a 1% or 1.5% COLA.
“We’ve worked really hard to make this possible and we appreciate … everybody on the team who spent time to, you know, sharpen those pencils and find a way,” Hatch said.
