ICSD Alert: We received a hoax generic email this morning threatening explosives inside of every school in our district. No school or district name was mentioned. We have been in contact with police and they are being extra vigilant today. Weber, Cache and Box Elder districts as well as several in Idaho have received the same hoax email. We believe this threat is unsubstantiated and it is safe to hold school. We will continue to monitor the situation and if there are updates, we will send those along. We ask that you report any suspicious activity immediately. Thank you for your patience as we navigate this situation.

On a special night at Cedar High where 3 time State Champion Matt Carter was inducted into the CHS Hall of Fame, as well as Senior night for the Reds, Cedar retained the Bell in the duel between the Reds and the Flyers. The night started with the ceremonies for the Seniors and Carter and then the Reds quickly got things going with Ian Po’uha winning the first match on the night 6-4, followed by forfeits for Max Diaz and Ben Hruby for the Reds giving the home team a 15-0 lead in the duel. Dixie countered with 3 wins in a row to push the team scores to 15-13 before Kian Pulsipher picked up a big pin just seconds before time expired in the 3rd period to push the Reds score up to 21-13. Andres Valencia won by fall in the second period of his match and Truitt Purcell outlasted his man picking up a 9-6 victory pushing the score to 30-13 in favor of the Reds. Dixie then picked up a pin at 157 lbs to cut the Reds lead to 11 at 30-19. That was it for the Flyers though as the next four Cedar Wrestlers all picked up pins early in their match to seal the victory and keep the bell in the Reds possesion. Cooper Jolley pinned his man in the 2nd period, Justin Anderson, Marshal LeClair and Aiden Po’uha each pinned their opponents in the first period of their matches making the final score 54-19. Way to go Boys!

The Reds and Falcons opened the season at Cedar High on Tuesday night as Cedar picked up the first win of the 2023-24 season 43-34 over Canyon View. The Reds battled back and took a lead early in 2nd quarter but the Falcons kept it close and hit two free throws at the end of the half to give CV a 17-15 lead going into the half. The Reds came out of the half with purpose outscoring the Falcons 16-11 in the third quarter and finished the Falcons off by dominating the 4th quarter as well to secure the Victory. Gabby Gomez led all scorers on the game with 14 points to go along with 3 assists. Kelsey Orton and Kiara Hansen each put up 8 points on the night with Orton hitting 2 big 3 pointers in the second half. Mya Bishoff contributed 2 triples in the first half to give her 6 points, while Shimada added 5 and Kenzie Bird contributed a jumper for 2 points.
