Ms. JessiKate Riley of Beaver, UT was crowned Miss Utah this year and was gracious enough to accept a request by Mrs. Julie Brown that she visit her health classes at Cedar Middle School. Miss Utah warmly greeted students and shared with them her story, an inspirational message and her incredible talents on the violin. Ms Riley grew up on a farm in Beaver, milking cows at 5 am, and has been playing the violin since the age of three. She gave thanks to her parents and her Cedarian violin instructor, Mrs. Penny for her accomplishments. She took requests from the enamored students to play any song they wished on the violin, which she executed flawlessly. It was no surprise to any in attendance that she won first overall at the Miss America pageant in talent. From Taylor Swift, to Star Wars and Pirates themes to Bach, she played it all to the wonder of the crowd. The students went away with an inspiring message to find "ValYOU" within, and many of the students came in for an embrace as they had felt a personal connection with Jessi.
