For her students' April at-home reading, Mary Saylor created a Reading Calendar for her 8th graders... with a twist. In an effort to help the kids stay engaged with reading, stay physically active, and get a break from their screens, she asked them to have a Reading Adventure. They need to do their daily reading in a unique way, such as, Build a fort in your Living Room. Read for 20 minutes in the fort. Or, Climb a tree and read for 20 minutes in a tree. She also created a Class Discussion photo challenge where the kids can post pics of themselves reading and then vote on their favorite photos. She's getting some great responses from the kids and is loving seeing the pictures that they're posting.
