The Governor, in collaboration with the Health Department and the Utah State Board of Education, has decided to extend the "soft school" closure through to Friday, May 1, 2020. The following is an excerpt from State Supt. Dickson's press release comments:
“We recognize that being away from school creates additional work and stress for everyone in our communities; however, it is a necessary step in stopping the spread of COVID-19,” said State Superintendent Sydnee Dickson. “During the uncertainties of the coming weeks, it is more important than ever to remain socially connected with our students and families while doing our best to ensure learning continues. The flexibility and initiative of our educators is a shining example of how we rise together in challenging circumstances.”
We have so appreciated how wonderfully our community has responded as we have faced this unprecedented situation. We are staying "connected," and for that we are grateful.
Our district team will be communicating with our school administrators ASAP, and we will continue to post updates as we move forward with this extended dismissal.
