Dear Parents,

We understand that some school districts have closed and/or cancelled school and other events. We are closely monitoring this situation and all options are being considered for Iron County School District.

At this point, no schools have been closed or will be closed at this time based on the recommendation from the Utah State Board of Education and the Governor’s office. The UHSAA has suspended all activities and athletic events for the next two weeks. District leadership and key supervisors will be meeting this afternoon to discuss in-school and community activities and gatherings and set the parameters for these based on the Health Department’s recommendations. We will be sending additional notifications through Remind and emails directly to parents including updates on student travel, large gatherings, and the potential for remote instruction should we receive direction from the health department and USBE to provide this service. Please remember these measures are pre-emptive in nature. You can visit our district website and click on the Coronavirus link for more information. We appreciate your support as we do what is best to insure the safety and well-being of students and district employees.
