Friday morning, August 13, employees of the Iron County School District gathered at Cedar High School to celebrate last year’s successes and the opening of the 2021-22 school year, which begins Tuesday, August 17. Because of last fall’s COVID-19 protocols, we weren’t able to meet as a district for the annual kickoff, so it was great to be all together again.
Our “famous” teacher band, consisting of Glen Lyman, David Jordan, Bryan Werber, and Alex Byers, played as teachers danced, swayed, waved their phone lights, and basically had a great time.
Employees were recognized for their years of service (5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30+ years). The following teams were also recognized for their outstanding work:
Dr. Lance Hatch, the new Superintendent of the Iron County School District, delivered the keynote address, encouraging employees to increase their effectiveness and positivity with students using the theme, “Relationships Thrive with 5 to 1.” Dr. Hatch also pledged his “conditional” financial support for employees with a song titled, “If My Nose Was Runnin’ Money” (I’d blow it all to you!). We know he has our backs (bucks??).
Let’s go out and have a great year!
