Good morning friends!

What a beautiful Friday. The sun is shining.  A 70 degree, windless (so far), beautiful day! This week, I would like to send a message of sincere gratitude to our parents and families who have been so extremely supportive during this year of significant challenges and ongoing changes in practice based on direction from many different entities. Not one school has needed to close, even temporarily, students are learning, and, as I have witnessed in classrooms, the hallways, and school events, they are happy to be in school. Thank you parents and families! Here are this week’s COVID numbers:

Total number of employees and students currently quarantined – 43

“When we are happy—when our mindset and mood are positive—we are smarter, more motivated, and thus more successful. Happiness is the center, and success revolves around it.”

~ Shawn Achor

I read Dr. Achor’s book, The Happiness Advantage, last summer and it has helped as difficult circumstances have arisen this year. This quote is central to the book’s theme. Happiness “is” the center, should be the center, and when our focus changes, that “center” changes toward sadness and strife: our interactions with others and our ability to remain positive and face the difficult with strength is compromised. I hope that this message and this video clip bring a little happiness to your day and that your weekend and the coming weeks are filled with joyful moments. I love Pharrell Williams’ song “Happy”! I hope you enjoy the clip… enjoy your weekend… enjoy your final weeks of this school year with your colleagues, friends, students and families. I wish you much happiness today and always.

With love and appreciation,

Shannon
