Dear Friends,

I hope this message finds you doing well. Over the last few days, I’ve had the opportunity to reflect on those in ICSD that serve as caretakers of our facilities. These great men and women are committed to the well-being of our students and every person serving in every facility. Todd Jones and our maintenance team, in collaboration with Lance Stubbs and our custodians, work tirelessly to ensure we are kept safe and comfortable as we do the critical work of educating our students. Our grounds are meticulously manicured and our community reaps the benefits of this work as we share our facilities, indoor and outdoor, for use. Thank you for all you do! Here is this week’s COVID-19 data update:

Total Positive cases since August 25th – 567
Total student positive cases – 414
Total employee positive cases –153
Total current active cases – 14
Total recovered cases – 553
Positive student cases related to school attendance – 36
Positive employee cases related to school attendance – 12
Total number of employees and students currently quarantined – 80
Total number of students quarantined since August 25th – 2,450
Total number of employees quarantined since August 25th – 194

First, a sincere thank you to all who are participating in our district-wide efforts to promote kindness in word and deed. It is noticed and appreciated. Secondly, in recognition of those that maintain our wonderful facilities, I’ve included, below, a short video clip link from a news broadcast that demonstrates how kindness can be taught, and how recognizing the efforts of each other and celebrating with kindness can be joyful! Please be safe and have a great weekend.

With love and appreciation,

Shannon
