During the month of November, the Cedar High School Latinos in Action club hosted a school-wide food drive at CHS. They collected over 300 items, which were donated to the Iron County Care and Share. The club president, Madison Sheffer, directed and created a video about the food drive, which was then submitted to the Service Via Video contest. The Utah Education Network partnered with Next Vista for Learning to sponsor the contest, encouraging K-12 students to inspire others by telling stories of service using digital video.
The Latinos in Action club advisor, Marissa Brady, was notified today by a representative from UEN that the video Madison submitted to the Service Via Video contest about her club’s service project had won the top video in Utah! The video will be spotlighted on the UEN website. Additionally, Madison will be receiving a prize for the video.
Congratulations to Madison and the CHS Latinos in Action club on inspiring and helping others through their service and their video.
