Community Service Opportunities (October 2020)

Research suggests that people who volunteer their time tend to be happier than those who don’t. Those who give charitable donations may even get a small mood boost!

Pumpkin Walk – This is Halloween, held 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm at the Southern Utah University Freeway Field North (1100 W University Blvd, Cedar City). Come and share what Halloween means to you. You can bring your best carved or decorated pumpkin to be judged and displayed or simply come with a mask and your best Halloween costume, and enjoy food from our Local Food Trucks. Admission is FREE, but we ask that you bring Feminine hygiene supplies, socks, laundry soap, or any type of gift card to donate to our Iron County School District Foundation. For those who want to enter pumpkins in the pumpkin walk, please bring your pumpkins to the lot by 4:00 PM and make sure to pick it up by 9:30 PM


Dine Out to Prevent Violence

During October, Dine Out to Prevent Violence at All American Diner, Dairy Queen, The Pastry Pub, and The Pizza Cart. When you place your order, ask how you can contribute to Canyon Creek Services, who has partnered with these local restaurants to provide our community with resources on how to prevent violence from ever happening in the first place.
