Officer Isaac Askeroth, Officer Clint Pollock and K-9 Voodoo Recognized

At the Iron County School Board meeting on September 25, 2012 Canyon View High School and the Iron County School Board recognized two Cedar City Police Officers for outstanding service to Canyon View High School. Following graduation in May of 2012, a group of 127 graduates plus chaperones were loading charter busses bound for Disneyland. Parents from our PTA organization requested the service of Cedar City K-9 officers to sweep the busses prior to departure to ensure student safety related to illegal drugs. While preparing to search one of the charter busses, School Resource Officer Isaac Askeroth observed some suspicious behavior by the driver. K-9 Officer Clint Pollock and his dog Voodoo searched the bus and the dog indicated an illegal substance present in the bag belonging to the driver. He was subsequently arrested for possession of illegal drugs and was found to be under the influence of drugs. Thanks to these officers for their professionalism and diligence to keep our students safe. We have a wonderful relationship with the Cedar City Police Department and rely on their assistance on a regular basis for support. On behalf of the Canyon View High Administration and the Iron County School Board we extend our sincere thanks to Officer Askeroth, Officer Pollock, K-9 Voodoo and SRO Supervisor Sargent David Bulloch for your service.
