East Elementary
On December 1st all of our fourth grade students were lucky enough to be able to go to the SUU Women's Basketball game. This was the first time for most of our students to be able to experience a college game. The students were able to be exposed to what college could be like for them one day. SUU invited the fourth grades of all the elementary schools in Iron County, and provided all the students with free admission and popcorn. We can already tell that they will all be talking about this game for a while.

South Elementary

South Elementary felt deep gratitude on Veteran’s Day for the patriotic music presented by the Master Singers. It was a touching moment when veterans in the audience were asked to stand as they heard the music from their division of the armed forces. As always, it is a treat when they perform at our school. The First Grade students added to the program with more well-practiced Veteran’s Day music. A big thanks to the First Grade team for organizing the assembly.

Last week our fifth grade classes had the great opportunity to go to Bryce Canyon! They were able to go on amazing hikes where they were able to look at the beautiful fall foliage. The fifth graders had an amazing time, and talked about it for many days afterwards. Being able to bring our classes on field trips such as Bryce Canyon really opens up our students’ eyes to what is beyond Cedar City.

This Friday is Easts PTA Walk-a-thon! This is an annual PTA fundraiser where all the funds go directly to the school. This is a great opportunity for students to help fund raise for a new sounds system for our gymnasium. On Friday for one hour as a school students and teachers will walk/run laps around the school to raise money. It is an amazing opportunity every year to help support our school.
