Iron Springs Elementary

Iron Springs held their annual Christmas orchestra and choir concert. These students work so hard and performed their songs beautifully. Merry Christmas!!

North Elementary
Cedar North Elementary is proud to announce that one of our first grade teachers, Becky Comstock, has been voted by the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce as their educator of the year. Becky will be presented her award at a ceremony in the first part of 2017 when many outstanding local citizens will be honored by the Chamber. We are proud to call her one of our own and would like to express our sincere appreciation for all she has done through the years to positively affect the lives of so many children. Way to go, Becky! For our annual Christmas service project, North Elementary's Student Leadership Team hosted "Pasta Wars!" North Elementary families donated pasta and pasta sauce during the first two weeks of December. Each day, each class's donations were weighed. We'd like to congratulate Mr. Clay Carter's fourth grade class for bringing in the most donations by weight. They earned a hot chocolate party sponsored by the PTA and hosted by the Student Leadership Team. This year, North Elementary donated more than 1100 pounds of pasta  and sauce to the local Care and Share to distribute during the holiday season. Great job, Polar Bears!

South Elementary

South Elementary wants to give a “shout out” to our principal Mr. Jerry Oldroyd. Mr. Oldroyd is very supportive of the students, staff and PTA at South Elementary. Last week he received the Outstanding Principal Award from the Utah State PTA. He was nominated for this award by our local PTA board. The award states that he has gone above and beyond in helping our school be successful. Mr. Oldroyd can be seen each morning greeting students as they arrive at school, and making sure everyone gets where they need to go after school. He also spends every lunch helping in the school cafeteria. Sometimes the students can convince him to share his juggling skills. Thank you for all you do, Mr. Oldroyd.

Three Peaks Elementary
We would like to thank the Questar Gas Company for providing visits with Santa and backpacks filled with a toy, a book, candy, and popcorn for every student at Three Peaks Elementary. What a wonderful gesture of holiday love and caring. The Three Peaks choir and orchestra held a combined holiday concert on December 20. The students' hard work paid off because the performances were wonderful! We would like to thank the choir director, Mrs. Cassie Walker and the orchestra teacher, Mrs. ShaLiece Corry for sharing their talents to teach these students. On December 21,the first grade students had a grand time performing their Christmas program for parents and Mrs. Shelley Barney's Kindergarten students held a fun Christmas program for parents. On behalf of the entire Three Peaks Elementary faculty and staff, best wishes for a safe and happy holiday season! School will resume on Tuesday, January 3, 2017.
